What valuable opportunities could be hiding inside your inbox right now?

One of my students used Claude to review her inbox and discovered potential speaking opportunities worth tens of thousands of dollars that she hadn’t noticed.

Here’s how you can use AI to organise your inbox and uncover what you may have missed.

1️⃣ Ask Claude to Audit Your Emails

Once your inbox is connected to Claude Cowork, start a new Cowork chat and use a prompt like this:

“Review the last six months of my email inbox. Identify recurring senders I may want to unsubscribe from, recommend email rules that could help organise my inbox, and highlight any important messages I may have missed—including income opportunities, client enquiries or critical tasks requiring a response.”

Claude can then show you what needs your attention before you begin clearing anything away.

2️⃣ Review Missed Opportunities

Ask Claude to identify:

✨ Unanswered enquiries
✨ Potential speaking opportunities
✨ Prospective clients
✨ Overdue customer responses
✨ Important delivery commitments
✨ Other messages that may require action

Then ask it to draft the necessary replies.

My personal security rule is:

Only ever draft. Never send.

I always review the email myself before pressing send.

3️⃣ Create Rules for Repetitive Emails

Some emails need to be kept for your records but don’t need to clog up your main inbox.

Examples may include:

✨ Payment notifications
✨ Software updates
✨ System reports
✨ Account alerts
✨ Routine administrative emails

Create a rule that automatically skips the inbox, archives the message and applies the appropriate label.

The email remains searchable without distracting you every day.

4️⃣ Use Your Email Provider for Simple Automation

If Gmail, Outlook or your email provider can create the rule directly, use that built-in feature.

You don’t need to spend AI credits repeatedly completing a task that your email system can automate permanently for free.

Set the rule once—and the job is done forever.

5️⃣ Archive Instead of Deleting

Once you have reviewed your recent emails and identified anything important, consider archiving older messages you no longer need sitting in the inbox.

Archiving keeps the historical record available for searching and AI-assisted research without leaving your daily inbox looking like a digital disaster zone.

6️⃣ Unsubscribe From What No Longer Serves You

Finally, review the newsletters and marketing emails Claude identifies.

If they’re no longer useful, unsubscribe.

Removing unnecessary noise makes it much easier to notice the emails that genuinely matter.

A cleaner inbox isn’t just about being organised.

It can help you think more clearly, respond faster, improve client delivery and recover opportunities that might otherwise disappear beneath thousands of unread messages.
