Quick answer: You don’t need to learn how to use every piece of software in your business anymore. Connect your AI to your tools and tell it what you want done. Today I recorded a workshop on Zoom, raw and messy. I gave GrokBot one short prompt, and my AI completely edited it in Descript (cutting the ums, ahs and gaps, adding captions and pop-ups, and covering sensitive information), then published it to my course portal in Tekmatix for me. I didn’t open Descript once. My job was to hit record and check the result.

TL;DR

• The new skill isn’t “learn the software”. It’s telling your AI clearly what you want done.
• I recorded a workshop on Zoom. GrokBot found the recording, sent it to Descript and edited it. A Course Manager agent then uploaded it to my Tekmatix course portal.

What happened today

Holy moly. Today genuinely blew my mind.

So much has changed in AI lately that I needed to refilm two of my courses: my Claude Cowork Masterclass and my GrokBot Masterclass. I’ve added a whole bunch of new skills too.

So I turned on Zoom and recorded the workshop.

Rough. Raw. Mistakes and all. I fumbled logins. I went off on tangents. I openly screen-shared things that absolutely shouldn’t be screen-shared.

In the old days, that would have meant hours in Descript. Cutting every “um”. Hunting for every pause. Typing captions. Scrubbing through 45 minutes of footage to find every flash of an email address or a client file I needed to hide.

Instead, I said this to GrokBot:

“I’ve just filmed a video for updating my Claude and my GrokBot courses in Zoom. Please go and check Zoom. I want you to send it to Descript. I want you to completely edit the video, cutting out any gaps, word gaps, ums, or ahs. Add captions, add pop-ups, blur out any sensitive information.”

That’s it. One short prompt.

And then I said: “Cool, can you now go and create a course manager who can go and upload it to my course portal in Tekmatix for me?”

And it did.

All I had to do was record the video. My AI did the rest.

The video editing prompt I used (tidied up for you)

Here’s a slightly fuller version of my prompt that you can copy. The extra lines are the ones that make sure your AI hands it back to you to check, rather than publishing anything.

How Tekmatix helps: Once the video is edited, it needs a home. My course portal lives in Tekmatix, so the same AI that edited the video can log in and put it in the right lesson for me.

What my AI actually did in Descript

I want to show you real numbers, not hype. Here’s exactly what my Video Editor agent did to my raw Claude Cowork Masterclass recording today.

• Cut the fluff. 45 minutes 42 seconds of raw recording became 41 minutes 7 seconds. About 97 ums, ahs, half-words and false starts went, and 44 long pauses were tightened.
• Cut the detours. A wrong-account login detour, a couple of off-topic asides, a garbled voice-typing moment, and me hunting for a file all disappeared.
• Added captions. Burned in, easy to read, and with my product names spelled properly (yes, it fixed “Grok Bot” to GrokBot, and it uses Australian spelling).
• Added 22 on-screen pop-ups. Little labels at the key moments, like where to click and what each setting means, plus a few zooms on the important bits.
• Hid private information. It pulled frames from the whole recording (914 of them), scanned them for email addresses, names, money amounts and private files, and then covered or cut 8 spots. Descript doesn’t have a blur layer, so it used soft grey redaction boxes instead.

And here’s my favourite bit. When I watched the first version, there was no sound. I told it. It found the cause (one volume setting had been set to zero), fixed it, checked the audio levels across the whole file and re-exported it.

That’s exactly how I’d want a human editor to respond. Except it took minutes, not days.

It also gave me a list of things to check myself, like the exact timestamps of every privacy box. Because I still watch it before my students do. Always.

Uploading it to my course portal, without me

Editing is only half the job. Then someone has to log into the course platform, find the right course, find the right lesson, upload a huge file, write the lesson description, add the transcript and make a thumbnail.

So I asked GrokBot to create a Course Manager agent to do exactly that.

My Course Manager knows the rules I care about:

• Put the video in the existing lesson. Never create a duplicate.
• Add a lesson summary with timestamps so students can jump to what they need.
• Add the full transcript (as a download if it’s too long for the description).
• Keep the student-only resources private. They’re for my students, not the internet.
• Make a lesson thumbnail in my brand, from my real headshots.

Why you don’t need to learn software anymore

I’ve been teaching people how to use tech for a very long time. And honestly? This changes everything about how I teach.

For years, the barrier was always the same. “I’d love to make a course, but I don’t know how to edit video.” “I’d love a funnel, but I don’t know how to use the page builder.” “I’d love automations, but workflows scare me.”

That barrier is disappearing.

You don’t need to learn Descript. You don’t need to learn the course portal. You don’t need to learn the funnel builder. You need to know what you want, and be able to explain it clearly to your AI.

That’s it. That’s the skill now.

Not “how do I click the buttons?” But “what outcome do I want, what are my rules, and what does good look like?”

They’re built from my original content: my training, my transcripts and the real work I do behind the scenes. That’s the whole point. The guardrails I never skip

• AI drafts. I approve. Nothing goes to students, customers or the public without a human yes.
• Privacy first. Customer names, email addresses and financials never appear in anything public. My AI scans for them, and I still check.
• Student-only means student-only. Course resources stay inside the course.
• Real photos only. Thumbnails use my real headshots, never an AI-generated version of my face.
• Watch it before they do. AI is brilliant, but you’re still the quality control.

How to start this week

1. Connect your AI to your tools. Your AI can only do the work if it can reach it. Mine connects to Zoom, Descript and my Tekmatix account. You can also connect ChatGPT and other AI tools to Tekmatix.
2. Record something real. A lesson, a tutorial, a client explainer. Don’t polish it.
3. Copy the edit prompt above and swap in your details.
4. Check the edit. Scrub the privacy boxes and pop-ups before you approve.
5. Hand over the upload. Use the course prompt, then the funnel and workflow prompts.
6. Save it as a skill so next time it’s one sentence.

Do I still need to learn video editing software like Descript?

Not to get the job done. You can connect an AI agent such as GrokBot to Zoom and Descript and tell it what you want: cut the ums, ahs and gaps, add captions and pop-ups, and cover sensitive information. It’s still worth knowing what a good edit looks like, because you check and approve the final result.
