Let me tell you a story.

Back when memberships were basically unheard of…
I had over 50 courses.
Collectively worth more than $50,000.
I was charging thousands for consulting.
Thousands per hour.

And then I did something that made people question my sanity.
I launched a membership for $47 a month.
Forty. Seven. Dollars.

1️⃣ “You’re Going to Cannibalise Your Business”

That’s what I was told.
“How can you put $50,000 worth of assets into a bucket for $47?”
On paper?
It looked ridiculous.
But something inside me knew:

This isn’t about today’s invoice.
This is about recurring income.

2️⃣ There Was No Proof

There were no case studies.
No templates.
No gurus teaching it properly.

Memberships were new.
But I had a feeling.
And sometimes in business, that’s enough.
So I tried it anyway.

3️⃣ What Happened Slowly Changed Everything

Slowly.
Not overnight.
Slowly.
People started joining.

Paying.
Staying.
Returning.

Month after month.
Because the value far outweighed the cost.
And something unexpected happened.

Community.

4️⃣ It Became More Than Content

It stopped being:
“Access to courses.”
And became:
A place.
A shared space.
A family.
A group of business owners who could say:

“Today is hard.”
“I feel like quitting.”
“I’m overwhelmed.”

And not be judged.
Just understood.
One friend even joked:
“Sarah, I think you’ve created a cult.”
We laughed.
But what she meant was:
You created belonging.

5️⃣ That’s the Real Power of Memberships

Yes, there’s recurring revenue.
Yes, there’s leverage.
But the deeper reward?
You get to build something that holds people.

In the messy middle.
In the doubt.
In the imposter syndrome.
In the growth.

You become part of their journey.
And they become part of yours.

6️⃣ Some Days Are Still Hard

Even now.
There are days where it feels overwhelming.

Where growth feels slow.
Where doubt creeps in.

That’s not a funnel trick.
