Happy Astrological New Year, Chinese New Year, Eclipse & New Moon!

We’ve got the Astrological New Year, Chinese New Year, a New Moon and a ‘ring of fire’ Eclipse all happening at THE SAME FREAKING TIME today!

And with the astrological new year kicking off with Aries and the Chinese new year shifting into a fire horse, the eclipse being a ring of fire, we have a seriously epic pile of energy coming down that is not in the slightest bit subtle.

I always have my various daily rituals that I follow as part of going with the flow of the astrological energy rather than swimming against the tides. Today I put a post on Facebook asking people if they wanted to share what weird stuff I’d be up to today with all of this new astrological and new year energy. A bunch of people said yes please so here we are…..!

Astrological New Year – The Aries Reset

In the traditional Gregorian calendar that we follow, a year of 12 months is January through to December. 

However, in the astrological calendar, the 12 signs of the zodiac actually begin around late February or early March, when we have the equinox and the Sun moves into Aries. 

Here we are today on the 17th of February 2026, which is actually the real beginning of our new year in 2026. 

I don’t know about you but 2026 so far has felt like an absolute sh*t show. 

Add to the fact that in Australia schools don’t go back until the 1st of February, I feel like I am only just getting back on my feet again after the craziness and absolute derailing of a two-month-long school holidays. 

For me, knowing that this is officially the beginning of the year today is an absolute relief and I feel like now I can finally start my year. 

Thank you so much, Astrological Calendar. 

Aries is the first sign of the zodiac and thus the beginning of the actual astrological calendar. 

Aries is not to be messed with. 

Aries is ready to bolt out of the gate at 1,000 km/h and finally get shit done. 

Aries has absolutely no business with fucking around, getting fucked around, or dealing with anyone’s fuckery. 

Aries energy is:

• Bold
• Initiating
• Courageous
• Slightly unhinged in a “let’s just do it” way

And you will not believe how perfectly this ties in with the new Chinese New Year of the Fire Horse. (More on that in a moment). 

But we have just left the last sign of the Zodiac, Capricorn. 

Capricorn was giving us tired old Jobsworth managers’ energy: getting tied up in details, pulling us backwards with compliance, having to tick boxes, constantly over-thinking things and getting bogged down in so much detail.

It kinda felt like a drag.

Well, the Aries season is the founder energy: the one who jumps off the cliff and builds the plane on the way down. 

Aries is the wild optimist who’s here to just take action. 

We are not worried about perfection in this incoming season. 

We are worried about execution: get the job done, take action, minimum viable product, release and launch ‘VERSION 1 NOW’ energy.

And of course with all of the AI and tech stuff flying in right now, this is absolutely the only way that we can operate today:

 as the living learner, the living doer. 

Take action, iterate, and evolve as you go. 

This new energy is fully supporting us all in ‘going with the flow’, and not overthinking it all. 

It’s time to BE the spark.
The match strike.
The first move.

This season is about TAKING ACTION.

Journal prompts

• Where in my life am I waiting for permission?
• What would I start and DO if I knew that success would be 100% guaranteed?
• What decision have I been avoiding?
• Where do I need to just trust myself and take a leap?

Do

• Start something NOW. TODAY. Immediately.
• Declare a goal and take the first step of action on it TODAY.
• Move your body, touch the ground, get hot. Aries loves movement.
• Have the conversation. Say the thing. And say it as a LEADER… not asking permission, not asking for advice.  Just a clear statement ‘this is how it is now’, ‘this is what is I am doing now’. 

Don’t

• Overthink
• Wait for perfect timing
• Dress fear up as “strategy” and ‘planning’.

Chinese New Year – The Energetic ‘Weather’ of the Year

The Chinese New Year is not a horoscope. 

It’s about the energetic weather system of the year.

Chinese New Year follows the lunar calendar.

Each year is ruled by an animal sign and one of the five elements. 

The animal symbol represents the flavour of the year.

From Snake to Fire Horse – The Shift in Tempo

Energetically, we’re moving out of a Snake year and into a Fire Horse year, and that is a serious change of pace.

Snake energy is coiled. Strategic. Observant. Quietly powerful. 

It’s the year of shedding skins, watching closely, recalibrating, conserving energy and striking only when it’s precise. 

Many people may have felt slower than usual, more introspective, more cautious. 

Less “charge ahead” and more “wait, assess, reposition.”….  Or they felt held back, stuck in the mud – like they just couldnt progress forward no matter how hard they tried.

It was like they were ‘tied’back (like the coiled up, sleepy, slow moving snake).

It is the end of snake years that often feel the hardest. As a snake grows and gets older, it has to shed its skin. This represents the shedding, removal, and death of many things in our lives.

Many of us will have experienced the death of friendships, the death of relationships with co-workers or staff. 

Maybe we have experienced literal death in the last 12 months. 

The snake year, especially for ambitious go-getters, can really feel like we were pretty much just dying the entire time. 

I know it did for me. 

So here we are now starting a Chinese New Year and I am very personally pleased to say fuck you and thanks for coming to The Snake. 

I am very glad I won’t see another one in a long time. 

In comes the fire horse baby!

Buckle up and hold on to the reins because this is going to be fast. 

Fire Horse energy is the opposite of the wood snake.

Horse is movement. Momentum. Freedom. Expansion. Action. 

And when you add Fire to Horse, you amplify it. 

This is bold, fast, expressive, passionate energy. 

It bolts out of the gate. 

It does not ask for permission. 

It does not enjoy being fenced in.

If the Snake year felt like coiling and shedding, the Fire Horse year feels like galloping through the wild without a saddle.

You may notice:

• Faster decisions
• Bigger urges to pivot
• Less tolerance for stagnation
• A craving for independence
• More visible risk-taking
• An absolute zero tolerance for other people’s bullshit – but instead of aggression response, you’ll just have a ‘trot off and strut away’ response.
  

This is not subtle energy. The horse year wants to see motion, movement and action….  Can you see a theme here?!

Journal into the transition:

• What skin did I shed this past year, what has been let go of?
  
• Where have I been quietly recalibrating, in what way did I grow out of my old skin?
  
• What version of me is no longer relevant and no longer available?
  
• Where have I been holding back my speed?
  
• If this year rewards bold movement, what do I need to finally act on?
  

It’s time to leave behind hesitation, over-analysis, playing small, hiding your ambition, waiting for the perfect moment.

You may be stepping into momentum, visibility, courage, and unapologetic expansion.

Just remember: Fire Horse energy is powerful, but it can burn out if unmanaged. 

Channel it. Direct it. Give it a runway. Give it somewhere and something to aim for. 

This is the year to run.
But run toward something, not just away from where you’ve been.

Do

• Clear your space, declutter, make space
• Attempt to get fast closure on unwanted situations. Forgot ‘the principle’ and ‘who wins’ – for your own energetic growth, just make the goal to close it and end it.
• Reset your financial goals, set up wealth systems, set a clear plan that you can gallop towards with locked-in vision
• Have a stable to rest in each night – what feels safe, comfortable, re-fueling and rejuvenating for you to charge up and rest each night?

Don’t

• Drag old grudges into a new cycle. Forgive and move on untethered.
• Begin the year energetically cluttered.

🌑 New Moon – The Seed Planting Moment

Normally when we have eclipses we focus on clearing, cleansing, and releasing – and we usually don’t do any kind of goal-setting or manifestation during an eclipse period. 

However, because we are at the beginning of an astrological New Year and we have a new moon, which is all about manifesting and seed planting, we are going to adjust what we do today in terms of our rituals.

The New Moon is when the sky is dark.

Symbolically, this is seed energy.

You don’t see results yet.
You plant.

This is about intention setting, not outcome chasing.

Quiet beginnings.
Private commitments.
Internal shifts.

Journal prompts

• What do I want to grow over the next 30 days?
• What do I want to see grow over the next 12 months?
• What do I want to be harvesting in the next 3-5 years?
• Who am I now, and who do I want to be?
• What habit would change everything if I committed to it?
• What needs to end so something new can begin?

Do

• Write your intentions, and write goals as if they are already present on a piece of paper
• Meditate on a visualisation of you walking through your perfect life, in a perfect day.
• Start one small aligned habit, today
• Eat clean, drink lots of water, no alcohol in an eclipse portal.

Don’t

• Force the need to know ‘how’ it will happen. 
• Write down or think about what you ‘don’t’ want

Eclipse – The Plot Twist Portal

Eclipses are cosmic course corrections.

They often bring:

• Sudden endings
• Unexpected news
• Accelerated timelines
• Truth reveals

Astrologers say eclipses remove what’s in the way.

It’s not always comfortable.  In fact, the next few weeks (until we have the closing eclipse in a few weeks), could feel like your entire life is falling apart.

Anything you havnt seen, doen or are holding onto that you shouldn’t be, will be ripped from you dramatically by the universe.

But it is clarifying.

Listen to your thoughts.

Listen to your feelings.

Pay attention to your gut and intuition.

Anaylse your dreams.

They are all messages as to what must go, what must change and what can stay.

Journal prompts

• What feels unstable or ready to shift?
• What has been pissing you off and annoying you for some time?
• What havn’t you said out loud, but keep saying in your head?
• What am I clinging to that might be expiring?
• Where is life asking me to just let go and move on?

Ho’oponopono – Forgive & Make Space For Change

Ho’oponopono is a traditional Hawaiian practice of reconciliation and forgiveness.

At its heart are four simple phrases:

• I’m sorry
• Please forgive me
• Thank you
• I love you

This is not about blame.
It’s about energetic responsibility and energetic freedom. 

Whatever you do not consciously release will unconsciously lead.

New beginnings without forgiveness are fake resets.

If you are:

• Resentful about a client who didn’t pay
• Angry at yourself for a failed launch
• Carrying hurt from a betrayal
• Quietly ashamed about how something went
• Holding grudges against someone
• Letting jealousy or anger come up when you see somebody else succeeding

That energy leaks into your soul, your spirit and your physical reality.
… and future you pays the interest rates.

CLEAR BAD ENERGY TODAY.

Sit somewhere quiet.

Think of:

• A person you’re holding tension with
• A version of yourself you’re disappointed in
• A moment you wish you handled differently
• A negative feeling towards something or someone that you are ready to change or cut entirely 

Then say, slowly:

I’m sorry.
Please forgive me.
Thank you.
I love you.

Repeat it at LEAST 10 times.

Say it to them.
Say it to yourself.
Say it to the situation.

Forgiveness is energetic decluttering.
And you cannot build a clean future on an emotionally cluttered foundation.

Tonight’s Ritual: Burn, Forgive & Become

Usually a moon ritual will focus on either clearing or manifestation; however, today we have to combine the two together due to the fact that we have both new moon and eclipse energy and new year energy all coming together at once. 

There is no right or wrong to conducting rituals and get used to trusting your own gut around what you need to do for your unique situation. 

I strongly recommend that you watch my Astrology for Success workshop and get your own natal chart, and astrology bot put together. 

That will be able to interpret your personal chart and how this New Year Energy, Aries Energy, and Eclipse Energy personally impact you. 

It will also tell you what you need to personally do in your Moon rituals to help you work with the energetics in your chart. 

However for those of you not ready for that yet, here is a suggested ritual for you to conduct any time in the next 12 to 72 hours. 

You’ll need:

• A piece of paper & pen
• A fireproof bowl/pan
• A candle (blue or green if you have colours)
• Optional: If you have oils, pick oils like peppermint, clary sage, cypress, frankincense and lavender
• Optional: crystals like aventurine, carnelian, citrine, pyrite, amethyst, clear quartz and selenite 
• Optional: (to represent the fire energy): incense, volcanic rock, burned wood, dried herbs and spices especially cinnamon/ginger/garlic/chilli, metal, gold jewellery

Place all of the above items on a tray, chopping board, or a table, in some kind of space, preferably outside, in a visual manner that you feel represents what you would like to call in to your life. 

A layout that visually feels pleasing or pretty to you. 

Step 1: 

Divide your piece of paper into two columns. And write on each half as follows:

Left: What I Release and let go of
Right: What I Choose and bring in

Release:

• Old identities
• Limiting beliefs
• Fear stories
• Habits you’re done with
• Resentment
• etc

Choose:

• The version of you stepping forward
• The revenue target
• The relationship standard
• The health identity
• The courage level
• etc

Step 2: 

Read the release column out loud.
Tear the paper in half so the release and choose columns are their own pieces.

Then BURN the release and let go half in the candle.

As it turns to ash, say:
“This version of me has completed its purpose, and is now gone. Thank you. I love you. Goodbye”.

Step 3: 

Fold the “What I Choose” side.
Place it somewhere you will see it each day… Beside your bed or on your desk. 

Over the next 30 days, read it out loud every day, and act like that person already exists.

Because that is the real ritual.

Now Let’s Ground This in Business

You are not just a spiritual being floating under moonlight.

You are a founder.
A leader.
A creator.

Future you needs more than vision boards and spells.
Future you needs systems, structure, action, iteration and scalability. 

Here’s what you should be working on right now that Future You will high-five you for:

1. Clarify Your Revenue Targets

Not “more money.”
Actual numbers.

• What is the exact amount of money I need to earn to make ends meet?
• What is the exact amount of revenue I need to bring in before tax in order to meet my minimum safety level of money? 
• What is the exact revenue I would like to earn this year to bring me an abundant amount of profit and savings? 
• How many sales do I need to make or how many customers do I need to get in order to hit that revenue number? 

Eclipse energy removes illusions.
Vague numbers create vague results.

2. Audit Your Offers

• Which offer actually makes money?
• Which one drains me?
• Which one converts easily?
• Which one sounds good but doesn’t sell?
• Which one of my products, services, or offers do I most enjoy creating, delivering, and marketing? 

More offers do not equal more revenue.

Profitable offers do not equal more fun and joy. 

Pick the right combination that brings you profit and also joy in your life.

3. Build One System That Runs Without You

• 3 step funnel
• Automated fulfilment sequence
• Lead magnet & nurture sequence
• Abandoned cart and follow-up upsell system

Aries says start it.
New Moon says plant it.
Eclipse says remove what’s blocking it.

The CEO says: get the fuck on with it today.

4. Clean Up Emotional Business Energy

• A client to release
• A boundary to reinforce
• A price increase to implement
• A conversation to finally have
• A friendship or employee to let go of
• An old system or process to clean up and update

Cosmic resets reward courage and action. 

5. Create One “Future Me” Habit

• 10,000 steps a day
• 30 minutes daily content creation for social media and organic marketing 
• Weekly CEO strategic planning
• Reviewing your data and analytics 
• Tracking cash flow daily
• Replacing manual systems with tech

Ritual without discipline becomes delusion.
Discipline without ritual becomes burnout.

You need both.

And that means you have to be a learner too. 

A Final Grounded Truth

Astrology does not override effort.
It does not replace strategy.
It does not remove responsibility.

What it offers is rhythm.

Your whole life cannot be a to-do list.
But your dreams cannot just be a mood board either.

We are cyclical beings.

We need:

• Energetic alignment
• Ceremony
• Reflection
• Forgiveness

• Execution
• Adjustment
