There was a day I calculated that overnight I’d lost $2.7 million and 21 staff.
In a single day.

That night, I realised I had two choices.

1️⃣ You Can Follow the “Safe” Advice — Or Take Responsibility
My accountant told me to go into administration.
That would have meant no visa. No move to Australia. No future here.
My entire life was on the line.

Or… I could do what stubborn entrepreneurs do best and say:
“I got myself into this mess. I’ll get myself out of it.”

2️⃣ Your Skills Don’t Disappear — Markets Do
What hit me hardest wasn’t the money.
It was realising the thing I was good at still mattered… but the way I was doing it didn’t.

There was no business for that version of my work anymore.
So the real question became:
How could I keep doing what I loved — but do it differently?

3️⃣ Reinvention Often Happens in Uncomfortable, Unromantic Moments
Picture this:
Middle of the night.
Empty office.
Everyone gone.
Me crying into a wastepaper bin, wine in hand, staring at my own reflection in the webcam.

And yes… my brain briefly went: OnlyFans — joking.
(It didn’t exist then. I probably would’ve considered it though.)

4️⃣ Rock Bottom Forces Creative Thinking
When there’s no option to go back, your only choice is to evolve.
That moment didn’t end my career — it forced its next version.

The business I run today exists because that one collapsed.

🎯 Sometimes the worst day of your business is the day that saves you — if you’re willing to rebuild instead of retreat.

If you’re in a season of uncertainty, reinvention, or “what the hell do I do now?”, you’re not broken — you’re transitioning.

And that’s where the magic usually starts.
