STOP WASTING YOUR BEST WORK HOURS REPLYING TO COMMENTS

Let me start by saying something that might sound a bit controversial…

You do need to reply to your comments.

But you probably shouldn’t be doing it during your most productive work hours.

Here’s why.

One of the biggest mistakes business owners make is treating social media engagement like it’s an emergency.

A comment comes in.

Ping.

You stop what you’re doing.

Reply.

Another comment comes in.

Ping.

Reply.

Before you know it, you’ve spent half the day bouncing between notifications and haven’t actually moved your business forward.

Can you see the problem?

You’ve turned engagement into interruption.

Now don’t get me wrong…

I absolutely believe in replying to comments.

In fact, comments are often where the real relationship-building happens.

But I don’t want my entire workday consumed by them.

So I have a system.

And this is where AI can be incredibly helpful.

If somebody leaves a comment and my brain isn’t fully switched on that day, I’ll often paste it into ChatGPT or Claude and say:

💜 Reply to this using my brand voice

💜 Make it sound like I’m talking to a friend

💜 Ask a question at the end to keep the conversation going

Most of the time, that’s enough.

I quickly tweak it.

Add my personality.

Hit send.

Done.

The goal isn’t to let AI replace your relationships.

The goal is to remove friction.

Because sometimes the hardest part isn’t replying.

It’s getting started.

And here’s another thing most people get wrong…

They try to squeeze engagement into random moments throughout the day.

Instead…

Schedule it.

For me, school pickup is comment time.

I get there early.

Sit in the queue.

And use those 30 minutes to reply to comments.

Because let’s be honest…

I’d probably be scrolling anyway.

So instead, I use that “dead time” to build relationships and engage with my audience.

Can you see what happens?

Instead of comments interrupting my day…

They now have a dedicated place in my day.

Maybe for you it’s:

💜 While having lunch

💜 Waiting for an appointment

💜 Sitting on the train

💜 During school pickup

💜 Fifteen minutes before finishing work

The specific time doesn’t matter.

The consistency does.

And here’s the part most people miss…

Social media success isn’t just about posting content.

It’s about building conversations.

The people who comment today often become the people who enquire tomorrow.

The people who enquire tomorrow often become the people who buy next month.

Relationships drive revenue.

But that doesn’t mean you need to sacrifice your entire day to create them.

Build a system.

Use AI when appropriate.

Schedule your engagement.

Protect your focus.

And let your content work for you instead of constantly distracting you.
