The business owners winning right now are not necessarily the smartest.

They’re not necessarily the most qualified.

And they’re definitely not the ones spending weeks perfecting every piece of content.

They’re simply the ones showing up.

And one of the fastest ways to do that in 2026 is through short-form video.

Reels.

TikToks.

YouTube Shorts.

Quick videos under 60 seconds.

In fact, video has consistently been one of the highest-converting forms of marketing for years.

And now it’s becoming even more important.

Why?

Because we’re living in a world full of AI-generated content.

AI can write articles.

AI can create images.

AI can generate social media posts.

But people still trust people.

And that’s exactly why video works.

When someone sees your face.

Hears your voice.

Feels your personality.

They build trust much faster.

It’s real.

It’s authentic.

And it’s much harder to fake.

One of the biggest mistakes I see business owners making is believing they need professional equipment, fancy editing, or a perfectly written script.

You don’t.

In fact, some of the highest-converting videos online are recorded on a phone with little to no editing.

They’re simple.

They’re conversational.

They’re human.

If you’ve already written a blog post answering a question your audience asks…

Turn it into a 60-second video.

If you’ve answered a client question this week…

Turn it into a 60-second video.

If you’ve solved a problem for someone…

Turn it into a 60-second video.

The goal isn’t perfection.

The goal is visibility.

And here’s something else that’s really important.

Please stop reading scripts.

The moment you sound like a newsreader, people switch off.

The moment you sound robotic, people switch off.

The moment you stop sounding like yourself, people switch off.

Instead, imagine you’re having a coffee with a friend.

Explain the idea the same way you’d explain it in a real conversation.

That’s what people connect with.

That’s what builds trust.

And that’s what converts.

I also recommend adding captions to your videos.

Not because the platforms need them.

But because people do.

A huge percentage of people watch videos with the sound turned off.

Captions help keep attention.

And more attention means more watch time.

More watch time means more reach.

More reach means more opportunities.

Now let’s address the elephant in the room.

Negative comments.

Will someone eventually say something mean?

Probably.

Welcome to the internet.

But here’s how I look at it.

The people leaving nasty comments are rarely your customers.

And they’re certainly not paying your bills.

The people who need your help are.

So don’t let fear stop you from showing up.

Because every video you publish is another opportunity for someone to:

Discover you

Trust you

Learn from you

Work with you

Buy from you

The person consistently publishing helpful videos will almost always outperform the person waiting for confidence.

Confidence comes after action.

Not before it.

So stop waiting.

Pick up your phone.

Press record.

Answer a question.

Help someone.

And repeat.

Future you will thank you for it.
