  • – In Australia, it’s the end of the financial year sales
  • – In the Northern Hemisphere, it’s the perfect time for a summer sale
  • – In the Southern Hemisphere, it’s the perfect time for a winter sale!

So last night I jumped into our private Legends Lab WhatsApp group and gave members a challenge:

Create a special Mid-Year Offer.

One thing you can put out into the world over the next 30 days to create extra revenue,

new conversations,

more leads... and fresh energy in your business.

The good news?

You do not need to create a whole new business, build a giant course, write a book, or spend months developing a product.

You simply need ONE simple, strategic offer.

One that is timely.

One that is relevant.

One that is FAST.

One that is easy to commit to (for you and the customer).

One that is a no-brainer.

And one that gives people a reason to buy RIGHT NOW instead of “sometime later.”

Why Mid-Year Is the Perfect Time to Launch a Special Offer

Different countries have different reasons to buy right now.

Australia and New Zealand: End of Financial Year

In Australia, our financial year runs from 1 July to 30 June.

I still think that’s weird, but here we are.

For many businesses, EOFY is a time when they’re actively looking for legitimate tax-deductible business expenses they can purchase before the financial year ends.

If you sell services, training, consulting, coaching, software, memberships, workshops, or business resources, this creates a natural deadline and sense of buying urgency that can create a nice little boost in income right in the years HUMP.

Northern Hemisphere: Summer Specials

If you’re in the UK, Europe, Canada USA – and all the ‘top end’ during June/July – it’s the perfect time to be running your ‘summer sale’ offer.

Summer promotions, seasonal offers, and limited-time experiences can work brilliantly during this period.

Southern Hemisphere: Winter Offers

For those of us south of the line – we are at the start of winter – a fantastic opportunity to create a Winter Special.

The title doesn’t matter nearly as much as the urgency behind it.

The key is creating a genuine reason for people to take action now.

WARNING: Do NOT Discount Your Existing Services!

Chucking a discount on an existing product that other people paid full price for, is one of the biggest mistakes I see business owners make in sales seasons. NEVER do it!

They take an existing offer that customers have already purchased at full price…

Not only does discounting reduce the perceived value of what you do, but you risk getting an influx of refund requests from the loyal people that bought from you first.

There is a better way to create an offer……

Option 1: Create a Reduced Variation of an Existing Product or Service

Take an existing offer and make it DIFFERENT, by making it ‘Less’….. hear me out…

eg:

  • Shorten the duration
  • Remove some inclusions
  • Simplify the deliverables
  • Package it differently

Simply ‘removing’ something from an existing ‘thing’, makes it ‘cheaper’ – but not actually the same as what other people paid more for.

Quick, easy and justifies the price drop to existing customers.

Option 2: Add a Bonus

Keep the original offer exactly the same.

But add something extra for people who purchase during your promotion period.

Examples include:

  • Templates
  • Checklists
  • Guides
  • Swipe files
  • Mini-trainings
  • Digital downloads
  • Resource libraries
  • A pre-recorded training/webinar/workshop

The beauty of digital bonuses is that they don’t require more of your time, they increase the ‘value’ of the offer AND you can go back and gift that new bonus to the people who bought from you previously as a thank you for being a loyal customer which gives them an experience of suprised delight.

Winning.

Option 3: Create Something Brand New

This doesn’t need to be complicated.

In fact, some of the most successful offers I’ve ever run have been incredibly simple.

Set a fixed price.

Give it a clear outcome.

Add a deadline.

Done.

Make sure your offer clearly states:

  • What the offer is
  • Who it’s for
  • What outcome they’ll receive
  • When the offer expires (an actual date)

For example:

“This special EOFY Business Boost Session is only available until 30 July 2026.”

After that date?

Gone.

No extensions.

No exceptions.

No “just this once.”

A deadline only works when it’s real.

And this mid-year deal time is perfect for these short term specials.

Promote It Every Day

One of the biggest reasons promotions fail is because people mention them once and then disappear.

Your audience is busy.

They are not thinking about your offer at ALL. They are busy with their own lives and newsfeeds and inboxes that are spilling at the seams.

You MUST KEEP POSTING ABOUT YOUR DEAL DAILY.

If you create a special offer, spend the next few weeks talking about it consistently.
