The Top 10 Critical Elements of a High-Converting Sales Page

If you are not making sales – I can guarantee that your sales page is missing one or more of these essential sales elements.

This is by no means exhaustive of what else needs to be on a brilliant sales page, and nor do I claim that my sales page is beautiful or perfect – not at ALL.

But this video does show you 10 things that can dramatically change your sales rates – even if your tech, copy-writing and graphic design skills are ‘level-potato’.

1. Get To The Point in The Top Fold

The “top fold” is the first bit of page visible when people land on your page. This prime real estate must instantly communicate:

  • WTF is it?: Be absolutely clear (eg: a 60min online pre-recorded workshop’)
  • Who it is for: call out the identity, role or gender etc (Eg: …for female start-up enterpreneurs’)
  • What does it do: Outline the exact result or outcome they get (Eg: …to create their first facebook ad campaign on a budget of less than $500)
  • How to get it: Include a visible, immediate buy button with the price on it! (Under most country consumer laws, it is a legal requirement to show the price before the checkout) 

For example, “Get 25 Workshops & Resources to Scale Your Business in 2025 – Just $25!” sets expectations and creates an immediate incentive to scroll or click.

2. Summarise the entire offer in one sentence

If a 10-year-old cannot understand what your offer summary sentence means – you’re overcomplicating it. 

“Yes but Saaaraahhhhhh, MY topic ios VERY complex and I am talking to very special people bla bla bla”.  

Einstein said ‘If you can’t explain something simply, you simply don’t understand it’…. And neither will your potential customers if you haven’t explained it simply.

I don’t care what your topic is.  You can simplify how you explain what I get if I buy it. If you don’t, nobody is buying.

  • Reiterate what they’re getting, what it will do, and who THEY are.
  • Detail the outcome: What problem does it solve and what result will this get them or move them towards
  • Include a value statement: Reinforce how this is a no-brainer price or opportunity.

Make sure anything that you claim is true, accurate and ‘average results’ that can be proven.

3. Use Countdown Timers (Ethically!)

Adding a countdown timer reinforces urgency, but be ethical. Ensure that the deadline is real and defensible. Falsifying urgent deadlines can lead to legal trouble with consumer protection bodies like the FTC or ACCC. If the urgency is authentic however, the countdown timer element can dramatically increase conversions.

4. Leverage Coupons for a Psychological Buying Boost

List the full price on your checkout page, with a coupon code displayed above the buy button. When buyers see the discount applied (e.g., $5,000 slashed to $25), it triggers a dopamine hit at getting a real discount and reassures them they’re getting a fantastic deal.

Again you must be ethical and remain compliant in your ‘value’ pricing. If you were audited for the claims you are making, you need to prove that your products really ARE usually sold at that price, or you have similar products sold at that price.

5. Visualise Your Offer With ‘Mock-Ups’

Replace dull bullet-point lists with visual mock-ups and graphics. People’s brains assign greater value to visual depictions of your offer. For example, showcasing workshop covers or resource previews makes your offer more tangible and appealing.

6. Add Validation Proof (Authentically!)

Include testimonials to reinforce credibility and trust. They must be Real and verifiable. Falsified reviews can lead to serious legal repercussions.

7. ‘Bonus Stacking’ for Perceived Value

Introduce an offer stacking section:

  • List additional bonuses with visuals (e.g., “Bonus Workbook,” “Exclusive Templates”).
  • Break these up and detail whats included in everything so that people can really grasp the exponential value of what you are selling
  • Highlight the total value added, the usual price and the saving they are getting – reinforced with the outcome they could get with ownership of the offer.

8. Overcome Objections with FAQs

Anticipate and address potential buyer concerns in a clear FAQ section:

  • What is included? When and how do I get access to it?
  • How does it work?
  • What if it’s not a fit? Refunds / Cancellation policy.
  • Do I get a free kitten with it?

This builds trust and eliminates hesitation.

9. Showcase Your Credibility

Near the end of your page, include a brief bio or credibility statement:

  • Awards, experience, or results you’ve achieved.
  • Why you’re the trusted authority for this product.

10. Sprinke BUY Buttons EVERYWHERE and show the price

Make buying easy. Put a BUY button every thumb scroll through your page to make buying quick and easy. Ensure the price is shown on the SALES PAGE, as it is against Consuler Law in most countries today to not show the price before the check out. Aside from compliance, buyers today are skeptical of online sellers. If you’ve got hidden or hard to find pricing – you’ll lose 99% of your potential buyers from the get go. Make it clear and make it easy.

The Science Behind the Success

This isn’t magic—it’s science. Every step of your sales page should:

  • Build trust and remove friction.
  • Reinforce value through visuals and specific benefits.
  • Leverage human psychology to create excitement and urgency.
  • MAKE IT REALLY REALLY CLEAR AS GLASS WHAT YOU ARE SELLING, TO WHO AND WHAT THEY GET.
