How To Move From Perfectionism & Move To Action?

In this week’s ‘Legends Lab’ Q&A call, I was asked ‘How can I move from perfectionism, to raw action?’.

‌

Obviously, you want to look good.

You need a level of professionalism to be taken seriously.

But what is underneath stifling perfectionism, is usually a fear of being criticised, negatively judged or called out for being an imposter.

‌

The only way that’s going to happen is if you don’t deliver what you say you’re going to deliver.

‌

It doesn’t need to look beautiful or be ‘perfect’ for your course, training or coaching to give people the information that they are there for.

‌

Does it matter if your university lecturer isn’t a super-model?

Does it matter if your paramedic isn’t wearing lipstick?

Does your doctor need to have a professional hair-doo before getting on a zoom call with you to discuss your treatment plan?

‌

No.

You want them to do their job.

‌

People are coming to you because they want the information you have.

They want you to help them.

They want your guidance.

‌

They really don’t care about whether you have done your nails,

got your landing page in the exact hex codes of your style guide,

if your hair is acting funky,

or if you’ve got a pimple on your butt.

‌

Turn up and teach.

‌

We’re here to help people.

‌

People are coming to us for the ‘life support’ that we provide.

And when we’re breathing life back into their lives, their worlds, their mindsets, their businesses, their relationships, their careers… they don’t care how pretty our sales page is.

‌

They care about whether they get the results that you’ve promised them.

Just do it. Take imperfect action, and watch your world change for the better.
