The Most Successful Experts, Simply Answer People’s Questions.

For business owners and content creators, answering real questions from your audience is one of the most powerful ways to build authority and trust – not to mention, is THE way that you get found in Google Search results (and now referred traffic by AI)…..

When you create content that directly addresses the top searches your ideal customers are making, you demonstrate indisputable expertise and relevance. AND you create a ‘spiders web’ of content and data that not only makes you continuously dominate an industry; but that continues to put you in front of your target audience whenever they search for help in your topic.

(And the most helpful person ALWAYS wins).

In the crowded online world (note I did NOT say ‘saturated’), understanding the questions your community is actually asking will inform your blog posts, podcasts, videos, courses and social media updates, making YOU more discoverable and unignorable.

Today, one of the members of my Legends Lab (business coaching program) asked ‘what are the best tools for finding out what questions people are asking in my topic?‘….. so here are some options for you all!

(Oh look – I used my audience’s QUESTIONS to create CONTENT!)

Below is a collection of tools that help you find those burning audience questions, create content on current needs and search queries made by your audience, stay ahead of market shifts and structure your content creation around what will actually get found and consumed by your target customers.

Some are free; others are paid; some focus on search engine data while others tap into community conversations.

There’s no such things as a ‘best’ tool – they are all different and haven’t different functions – so try them all and see which one you vine with best for you.

Top Question and Topic Discovery Tools for Creating Discoverable and In-Demand Content

AI‑powered tools

ChatGPT and Custom GPTs

ChatGPT can provide some of the quickest and easiest search phrases and questions that content creators can use to create searchable and relatable content.

Here are some prompts that I provide my students in The Legends Lab:

  • GPT: ‘List the top 25 fears, problems and challenges my target audiences have related to my topic, state them as they would say them, and create a short solution-focussed post that I could use as text or video content, include a CTA to my free lead magnet or hero offer’.
  • GPT: ‘List the 50 most common questions my target audience have about my topic, with a short solution focussed answer that I can use as text or video content, with a CTA’
  • GPT: ‘Give me 50 single-sentence, problem-statements said or thought by my target audience’

You can also build custom GPTs (e.g. an Expert Positioning Content Creation Bot) tailored to your niche, and use your Content Creation GPT to generate authority-rich, SEO‑ready question-based content quickly.

I have created exactly this customGPT Bot for all of my members at The Legends Lab!

Social Listening

ChatGPT-5 Agents can now search Facebook groups FOR YOU for specific keywords used in posts, and then add the posts to a google sheet for you.

I have used social listening for well over a decade to simply see for myself the questions that my audience are asking in facebook group – this post itself was created from a question in my secret Legends Lab members facebook group.

But you can join groups that your target audience are in, and simply manually search for keywords related to your topic (or get your Ai Agent to do it!).

Other Content Searching Tools

Answer The Public (answerthepublic.com)

This is my favourite tool for searching for the exact questions that people are typing in on search engines right now.

AlsoAsked (alsoasked.com)

AlsoAsked visualises how people search by pulling “People Also Ask” data from Google.

It clusters questions into topic hierarchies so you can map out blog post or video outlines, and identify how different queries relate to user intent. It’s particularly useful for building SEO silos and planning a series of articles around a core topic.

Google Search Autocomplete + People Also Ask

Start by typing your niche keywords into Google and pay attention to the autocomplete suggestions. Then scroll down to the “People Also Ask” and “Related Searches” sections on the results page. These simple techniques reveal the real language your audience uses and help you pick up long‑tail queries you might not have thought of.

BuzzSumo (buzzsumo.com)

BuzzSumo shows you the most shared and linked-to content across social platforms and websites, making it a favourite for trend spotting and viral headline crafting. Its Question Analyzer feature aggregates questions from forums like Reddit, Quora and Amazon, so you can see what people are really asking and how often.

Answer Socrates (answersocrates.com)

Answer Socrates is a free alternative to Answer the Public.

It provides keyword and question variations grouped by “what”, “why”, “how”, “where” and other interrogatives. It’s quick to use and offers a clean interface for brainstorming content ideas without a steep learning curve.

Quora (quora.com)

Quora remains one of the largest user‑generated Q&A platforms. By typing in your niche or topic, you can browse real discussions, see the pain points users are experiencing and even validate your own assumptions by reading diverse viewpoints. It’s ideal for capturing authentic language and community sentiment.

Reddit via Subreddits

Reddit’s subreddits can be a goldmine of candid conversations. You can use Reddit’s search or third‑party tools like GummySearch to extract commonly asked questions from specific subreddits. Look for posts that start with “help”, “how do I…”, or “struggling with…” to identify challenges people are facing. This method provides raw insight into audience needs.

Exploding Topics (explodingtopics.com)

Exploding Topics identifies emerging search trends before they hit the mainstream. For content creators looking to publish ahead of the curve, this can highlight high‑opportunity topics before they become saturated. However, always balance trend‑hunting with evergreen content to ensure lasting value.

Keyword and SEO‑focused research tools

Ubersuggest (neilpatel.com/ubersuggest)

Ubersuggest offers keyword suggestions, question-based queries and content ideas, combining search volume, SEO difficulty scores and trend data. It’s well‑suited for those who want a broad view of what their audience is Googling and how competitive each term might be.

SEMrush or Ahrefs

These are paid tools known for robust keyword tracking and competitive analysis.

You can explore what your competitors rank for, track search positions over time and identify question‑based queries that users are Googling. While they’re powerful, they come with a learning curve and a subscription cost, so weigh the benefits against your budget.

KeywordTool.io

KeywordTool.io pulls suggestions from Google Autocomplete and supports YouTube, Bing, Amazon and other platforms. It offers filters to show question‑based keywords that start with “what”, “how” or “where”. This can help you tailor content to specific query formats across different channels.

Automation and integration for Tekmatix users

Now that we have ChatGPT-5 (Agentic AI), you can get your ChatGPT Agent to scrape for current trending content, top search queries for your audience and top ranking blog posts in your topic, then ask it to re-cfreate similar versions but in your unique language and brand voice, then get it to publish it on your Tekmatix blog for you!

Final thoughts and next steps

By combining these tools and techniques, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of what your audience is searching for and talking about.

Simply answering as many questions as you can in your field can help give Google and AI a tonne of content to send traffic back to you, and to help you establish authority, market dominance and credibility in your field.

Remember that no single tool covers everything or is ‘best’; experimentation is key and find the one that works best for you.

Your own experience is always best!

Blend search data with real community insights, and balance trending topics with evergreen questions.

As you answer more of your audience’s pressing questions, you will strengthen your authority, expand your reach and provide genuine value.
