If you want to stop drowning in admin and start scaling your business, hiring your first virtual assistant (VA) is the best place to start. Here’s how to do it right—from what to outsource first, to finding the right people at the right price.

Step 1: Audit Your Time—What’s Actually Eating Your Day?

Before you hire anyone, get honest about where your hours are going.
For the next three days, grab a piece of paper and divide it into 15-minute intervals. Jot down what you’re doing, every block—sending quotes, replying to emails, chasing invoices, making social posts, tinkering in Canva, editing videos…whatever fills your day.

At the end, look at the list and ask:
Could I—with clear instructions—hand this to someone else?
Most of the time, YES. That’s your first batch of VA tasks.

Step 2: What Should You Actually Delegate?

If it doesn’t require your face or your unique brain, automate it or delegate it.
