Ever seen a website URL with a jumble of random letters and numbers? That’s a missed opportunity! A well-crafted URL slug not only helps search engines but also makes it easier for your audience to find and remember your content.

👉 Reflect today: Are your URL slugs simple, clear, and optimized for both SEO and user experience?

Here’s how to create effective slugs:

1️⃣ Use Keywords
Include one or two relevant keywords in your slug to help Google understand what your page is about.
💡 Example: If your page is about a cake baking workshop, use:
mywebsite.com/cake-workshop

2️⃣ Keep It Simple
Your slug should be short, memorable, and easy to share. Avoid long or overly complex slugs.
💡 Pro Tip: Choose slugs that you can easily say in podcasts or live streams.
For example:
“Visit mywebsite.com/bootcamp” is much easier than “mywebsite.com/cake-dash-workshop.”

3️⃣ Format for Clarity
Using dashes can make slugs easier for search engines to read. However, balance clarity with ease of sharing for your audience.

4️⃣ Test Your Slugs
Read them aloud! If they’re too clunky to say, simplify them for a better user experience.
