Don’t Plan Annually If You Want To Profit

No matter what time of year it is, we are always on the first day of the next 12 months that are coming.

Whilst ANY planning is better than NO planning at all, if you don’t focus in on how much each DAY counts, you’ll risk your dreams always sitting on the distant horizon of ‘One Day’.

If you really want to succeed, switch seeing your business goals from a 12-month view, to a DAILY view.

When we think about our businesses from the perspective of 12 months, it can make us lazy, slow and create a total lack of urgency.

12 months makes us like we have so much time to get it done, that we let deadlines pass and say things like “I’ll get to that another day”.

12 months creates a lack of understanding that what we do today really matters.

Then all of a sudden, before we know it, we’re at the end of an actual calendar year and our goals are rolled over into another long 12 months.

If we break down our annual goals into much smaller time periods – things change dramatically.

Every single thing we have today, is the cumulative result of all the tiny things that we did or didn’t do on a daily basis over the last few months.

Look at each day as absolutely critical to moving towards my goal, moving towards what I want or not getting there at all.

If we look at the year as only 12 WEEKS long, instead of 12 MONTHS long, there’s that urgency for us to move forward and we get WAY more done.

This principle is amazingly described in the book “The 12 Week Year” – definitely give it a read!

If you want to get profit, you gotta get a plan; and you gotta break that plan down into much smaller timeframes.

If you’re a business owner, you NEED to be making PROFIT.
If we don’t have profit, we don’t have a business, we have a hobby.

I always want to bring home to people that focusing on profit, focusing on money, focusing on income does NOT make you a bad person.

It is not bad to focus on money.

It is absolutely essential that we focus on money.
This is a business.

If we run out of money, we cannot keep doing what we’re doing.

If we run out of money, we cannot help anybody.
The fundamentals of your business need to be around; “how will I make money?”

“How will I make money and cover my expenses so that I can keep doing what I can do?”
And, “how do I make sure that those expenses are less than what I’m bringing in, and that I actually have money in my own bank account and can live the life that I want, and I can keep doing this to keep helping more people?”.

Remove any mindset limitations you have around the myth that “people who desire money must be shallow”.
It’s not true.
In fact, the more money you make, the more you can give to people, the more you can do for people, the more impact you can make, the more you can help others.

It is absolutely self-LESS to focus on money and income when you are a business owner, because you can serve and support more people, create jobs, spend on other people’s businesses, give more of your time to others and so much more!

So get planning, break it down, and pull in that profit!
