7 Steps To Getting Back on Track in Your Business

How are you going with your business goals?

Every few months, business owners tend to start losing steam and direction,

wander off-track and find themselves reacting to daily problems, instead of proactively attacking their strategic targets and goals.

It’s ok, it’s normal!

But, just like our bodies – if we stop ‘working out’ in our business, things start to deteriorate…

We MUST get back on track, working those muscles and sweating it out.

So – here is a little reminder for you to get the wheels burning in the right direction again:

What is your OBT?

(This is what I call the ‘one big thing’.

If you were only allowed to achieve ONE massive goal in the next 12 months, what would it be?

Eg, a certain number of subscribers in your membership, a certain monthly revenue etc.

This must be specific, precise and measurable.

This is your guiding goal for the next 12 months.

EVERYTHING you do must directly lead to achieving this goal.

Multiply Your Potential Results

Times your OBT goal by 10.

Eg, if you have set a goal to get 100 subscribers in your membership, multiply it by 10 and make your goal 1,000 subscribers.

As the saying goes, “if you aim for the moon and miss, you’ll still end up in the stars”.

Screw reasonable and average.

Be Legendary in your own definition.

I’d much rather fall short of a 10 x goal, than achieve a low-level comfortable goal.

Quantify Your Required Targets

This is the bit that almost all business owners FAIL to do, and why so many businesses fail.

They simply set a goal, and hope it happens.

But you MUST work out the number of LEADS you need, to reach the number of sales that you want.

This bit is CRITICAL, so grab a calculator and do this right now…

If you have a conversion rate of 1% (this means 1 out of 100 people that you present your offers to buy it), then how many people do you need to get in front of in order to hit your sales target?

Eg, if you want to get 1,000 subscribers in your membership, and you are calculating on a 1% conversion rate, then you need to get in front of 100,000 people to even have a shot of reaching your goal.

Then do the following:

  • Detail what you need to do on a monthly basis to reach that many people each month (if that’s your goal)
  • Create a 90-Day Plan that details everything you need to do to move towards your OBT
  • Create detailed tasks that must be completed as part of achieving the 90-day plan
  • Add your tasks to the Tekmatix tasks management board and assign to yourself or staff
  • Create repeating appointments in your calendar for dedicated time to completing each task. Note that it ALWAYS takes 5-10 times LONGER to complete a task that you think it will – alow plenty of time for making some progress
  • Join The Legends Lab and go to Section 3 which is all about getting organised, more productive, systemizing your business and hiring VAs to help you get more done.
